Tango is a juvenile whale shark who has been a seasonal resident in the Bay of La Paz. Our first data from Tango is from December 18, 2007 when Tango measured 3.5 meters. Since that time he has grown 1 meter and now measures 4.5 meters, about 15 feet. We think that when a whale shark is 9 meters long they are 22 years old, so we can safely say that Tango is less than 15 years old.
During the 2008-2009 seasons, the last time we saw Tango was March 11 of 2009. On August 6 he was seeing in Los Ángeles Bay (750 km North of la Paz Bay) and after that he returns La Paz Bay from January 5 to April 5 of 2010. We are happy to tell you that Tango returns and we saw him in 2012, 2011, 2012 and 2013.
